  4. I respect your boots-on-the-ground information. I would wish that your conclusion ( a failed post revolutionary government of Islamists will fall out of power) would come true but I am more pessimistic. Iran is still controlled by the Islamist government that came to power after the election even after almost two decades of Western sanctions.
    Your report reads as if the first government will necessarily fall due to its inability to meet the people’s demands. One cannot validly draw this as the only logical conclusion. It is just as likely that the party that grabs power first will be the power that hangs on for quite a while.

    However, I agree with you on what the US government’s response should be.
