{"id":673,"date":"2013-10-18T15:40:20","date_gmt":"2013-10-18T19:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matthewvandyke.com\/blog\/?p=673"},"modified":"2013-10-18T15:40:20","modified_gmt":"2013-10-18T19:40:20","slug":"syria-dar-al-shifa-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.matthewvandyke.com\/blog\/syria-dar-al-shifa-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"I Saw The Horrors of War at Dar al-Shifa Hospital in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A\u00a0year ago today, I began filming the documentary about Syria, <a title=\"The Documentary Film About Syria\" href=\"http:\/\/www.syrianrevolutionfilm.com\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Not Anymore:\u00a0A Story of Revolution<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On my first day of filming\u00a0I saw a baby without a head brought to Dar al-Shifa Hospital in\u00a0Aleppo, Syria.\u00a0I wrote a detailed account of what happened at the hospital that day and posted it on\u00a0<a title=\"Matthew VanDyke Facebook Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Matthew-VanDyke\/102993809826639\" target=\"_blank\">my\u00a0Facebook page<\/a> that evening.<\/p>\n<p>I had seen\u00a0the horrible realities of war while <a title=\"The Accidental Warrior\" href=\"http:\/\/citypaper.com\/news\/the-accidental-warrior-1.1517857\" target=\"_blank\">filming in Iraq<\/a> and while <a title=\"The American Filmmaker Who Became a Freedom Fighter in Libya\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vice.com\/read\/the-american-who-was-imprisoned-in-libya-for-six-months-for-fighting-gaddafi\" target=\"_blank\">fighting in Libya<\/a> that no person should ever see.
